Important - COVID-19 Procedures

To our valued Pet Parents,

At Doorbell Vet, our top priority is the safety and health of our clients, patients and employees. As we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, we are taking all recommended prevention and preparation measures and have implemented the following changes to procedure:

  • If you or a family member are sick, even if it is just the sniffles, please reschedule your appointment. If your pet has an issue, give us a call. We can sometimes offer telemedicine (virtual) options and depending on the circumstance, we may be able to help virtually rather than coming into the home.

  • We require that anyone present for the appointment wear a mask while we visit.

  • In the spirit of “social distancing", we will maintain a 6-foot distance between the 2-legged family members and ourselves. We realize this is awkward and we hate it, as we tend to be hand-shaking and hugging-type people, but this is a very important step so that we may continue helping all families and pets.

  • Kitties must be in a carrier or contained in a matter that will make their short journey to our mobile exam unit safe. Dogs can be seen in garages, outside (weather permitting & on a leash) or in our mobile exam unit. The only exception we are making is for euthanasia appointments. We understand that during this very difficult time, your family and your pet need to be as comfortable as possible. The appointment can be held within the first 5 steps of the doorway so that we do not go into the heart of the home and so we can step out while you are saying goodbye to your loved one.

  • We will call you on the way to the appointment to get a history and talk about your concerns in order to minimize contact and exposure.

  • We will only be accepting credit/debit cards at this time. Absolutely no cash or checks. Euthanasia appointments must be pre-paid, please call the office at (585) 441-0200 to do so. For all other appointments, our staff will email you a copy of your invoice shortly after our visit. You must use the Pay Here link located at doorbellvet.com or call the office at (585) 441-0200 to pay for your appointment same-day. You do not need a PayPal account to use this function, it is only a platform for a debit/credit card's information. If you do not pay your balance same-day, there will be an extra $10 fee added for each additional day.

  • Our physical office will not always be staffed. If you are dropping off a sample, we ask that the container be clearly labeled with the full name of the pet and that it be placed in the white bin that is closest to the office door. Our staff will be checking this throughout the day and processing the samples.

  • We ask that you give us at least 2 weeks’ notice before you run out of medication so that we may ship the item to your home. We would like to highlight the importance of this as some medications are a bit harder to find currently so it may take us a few days to get the medication you need plus the increased shipping times. If you have a medication that cannot be mailed and has to be picked up, we will prepare the medication and have it ready for you in a bin outside of the office. We also have our new online pharmacy, MyVetStore Online where you can place orders for your products and they will be shipped directly from the manufacturer to your home. We ask that you try to utilize this service as much as possible during this time.

Lastly, we know how much our clients love their pets and are concerned for their safety. To date, there is no evidence that pets will be affected by the Coronavirus. We will keep you apprised of the situation as our understanding increases. We highly recommend that you follow us on Facebook where we have been sharing information about the Coronavirus. We will continue to use that platform to inform our clients immediately of changes and email contact may be a bit delayed in comparison.

Thank you for helping us to maintain our high standards for the health and safety of our clients and team. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

The Doctors & Staff at Doorbell Vet
